06 · What you'll learn

06 · What you'll learn

  • Explain how light, geometric optics, and aberrations shape the image

  • Choose lenses by type, focal length, and distortion for a given task

  • Control aperture, depth of field, sensors, and exposure triangle in practice

  • Operate photo and video camera systems and essential accessories safely

  • Complete a creative mini-project that demonstrates technical and visual control

07 · Roadmap

  1. Module 1 — Physical foundations of optics and light: nature of light, geometric optics, aberrations (lectures 1–3)

  2. Module 2 — Design and characteristics of imaging optics: lens types, focal length, distortion, aperture & DoF (lectures 4–6)

  3. Module 3 — Imaging systems, exposure, and modern technology: sensors, exposure, video systems, accessories (lectures 7–10)

  4. Practical arc — 20 studio/field sessions + individual creative mini-project
