Interactive Movies on Netflix in 2026
Netflix has no interactive films in 2026. What’s on Netflix reported the last two, Bandersnatch and Kimmy vs. the Reverend, would leave globally on 12 May 2025. JustWatch for the US and UK on 6 October 2026 lists no stream. Below: what left, what returned without choices, and what to watch instead.
What was removed, and when
Search still suggests “interactive movies netflix 2026”. The person wants a list. The honest first sentence is that the list is empty. Pages from 2024 and 2025 that still say the titles are “leaving soon” describe a catalogue that is gone.
There were three waves. On 1 December 2024 Netflix removed nearly all interactive specials. The Verge, on 4 November 2024, reported that of 24 genre-page titles only four would remain: Bandersnatch, Kimmy vs. the Reverend, Ranveer vs. Wild with Bear Grylls, and You vs. Wild. The rest of the list is in What’s on Netflix, updated 25 November 2024. Best-known names in that cut: Choose Love (2023), Cat Burglar (2022), Carmen Sandiego: To Steal or Not to Steal (2020), You vs. Wild: Out Cold (2021).
On 23 January 2025 the two remaining Bear Grylls interactive titles left as interactive programmes. That date is in the 2 April 2025 What’s on Netflix report, not in the November announcement.
On 12 May 2025, according to the 6 May 2025 report, the last two were to leave globally: Black Mirror: Bandersnatch (2018) and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs. the Reverend (2020). That report calls the departure the end of Netflix’s interactive stories.
There is a second date, and I am not hiding it. JustWatch for the US and for the UK, opened on 6 October 2026, say Bandersnatch is not available for streaming, and their Netflix history chart runs “December 2018 – August 2025”. The announcement and the catalogue tracker do not match. I am not collapsing them into one date. For a viewer in October 2026 the practical result is the same: those two catalogues do not offer the interactive cut.
Why the format closed
A quotation, not a paraphrase. Netflix spokesperson Chrissy Kelleher told The Verge on 4 November 2024: “The technology served its purpose, but is now limiting as we focus on technological efforts in other areas.”
Production stopped before the catalogue purge. What’s on Netflix, in the December 2024 piece, says interactive specials were officially discontinued in mid-2023, and that the last new original was the romantic comedy Choose Love, released in August 2023. The Verge adds that Mike Verdu had already told Game File the company was no longer building interactive titles. The 2024–2025 removals closed a remainder. They were not a sudden halt of a living slate.
A query for “interactive movies netflix 2026” is therefore looking for something the service itself called a limitation, not a yearly roundup. A page that promises the best interactive Netflix films of 2026 answers the wrong question.
What came back as linear cuts
Netflix did put some Bear Grylls titles back, without the choices. The 2 April 2025 report describes four linear versions. Animals on the Loose: A You vs. Wild Movie went from 2 hours 18 minutes to 43 minutes. Ranveer vs. Wild went from 1 hour 48 minutes to 1 hour 12 minutes. You vs. Wild kept eight episodes, but the synopsis dropped the “you decide” address. You vs. Wild: Out Cold went from 1 hour 46 minutes to 28 minutes. The “what should you do next” instructions were cut. The branches are gone.
That is no longer interactive cinema. An interactive film holds the choice inside the flow of the shot. A linear recut keeps one path and a shorter runtime. For the Bear Grylls specials, where branches often met again, the recut can still be watched as an ordinary special. The same report says the opposite of Bandersnatch: the function was the point of the work, and a simple port to one film was not promised.
I have not checked whether those linear versions are still in the Netflix catalogue in October 2026. An April 2025 report is not a current library. I will not write “watch it on Netflix” until the title page is opened that day.
Where to watch branching films now
No legal stream of Bandersnatch turned up in the catalogues I checked. JustWatch US and UK on 6 October 2026 show “not available for streaming” and a notify button, not a player. I am not naming another platform, and I am not linking rips, Discord archives, or fan copies. What’s on Netflix mentions a community called The Netflix Interactive Archive that is trying to preserve the technology. That is a phenomenon, not a watch address.
A replacement is not “the same Bandersnatch somewhere else”. It is other works where choice still exists and the carrier was opened, or already described on this site. Late Shift was on Steam as a purchasable game on 6 October 2026: an FMV thriller with real-time choices, Steam release 18 April 2017. It is not a Netflix film and not a plot substitute. It is the nearest verified home for branching live-action video.
Her Story and Immortality use a different mechanic: the viewer assembles a film from an archive instead of picking a branch from a menu. That distinction is in the film-or-game essay and in what an FMV game is. I did not open a store page for them on this day, so I am not linking a buy button. Current 2026 releases, with dates and sources, are in the FMV roundup. The historical ancestor of the same choice problem is Kinoautomat: the hall voted, and the branches still converged.
Why Bandersnatch cannot be recut into one film
A linear recut removes the dramaturgy, not a bonus. In the line between film and game, Bandersnatch is a branching film, not a game: no skill is required, it cannot be lost, there are only branches and endings. The carrier was a video file on a streaming service; the interaction was a remote-control choice. Cut the choice out and one path remains, presented as the work. The viewer no longer holds part of the dramaturgy. They watch someone else’s route.
The structure is nodal. In the branching-structures guide that is the oldest scheme: the story pauses, a choice switches to a pre-shot branch, and the branches rejoin. Kinoautomat ran the same scheme in 1967, with hall buttons instead of a remote. Convergence was part of the design, an illusion of choice, not a bug in a watch-list. A linear edit closes that argument by deleting the branches.
Bear Grylls lost runtime and the address to the viewer. Bandersnatch would lose the mechanic it exists for. While no checked catalogue offers the interactive cut, watch works where choice still functions: Late Shift on Steam, and the 2026 roundup on this site.
The base definition is in What is interactive cinema. There Netflix stays a chapter of the history, not a watch address.
What left, in short
Not a full Netflix archive. Six rows, enough to keep the three dates apart. Sources are listed below. Bandersnatch has no “where to watch” cell: the catalogues I checked do not offer one.

FAQ
Are there still interactive movies on Netflix in 2026?
No. The interactive catalogue that “interactive movies netflix 2026” is looking for is gone. What’s on Netflix reported that the last two titles would leave on 12 May 2025.
When did Netflix remove Bandersnatch?
What’s on Netflix wrote on 6 May 2025 that Bandersnatch and Kimmy vs. the Reverend would leave globally on 12 May 2025. JustWatch for the US and UK ends the Netflix window in August 2025 and, on 6 October 2026, shows no stream. Both dates are here. I am not swapping one for the other.
What was removed on 1 December 2024 and 12 May 2025?
On 1 December 2024 nearly the whole interactive-specials library left, except four titles. On 12 May 2025 the two that remained, Bandersnatch and Kimmy vs. the Reverend, were announced as leaving. Between those dates, on 23 January 2025, the two Bear Grylls interactive titles were removed as interactive.
Did any of them come back as linear films?
Some Bear Grylls titles did. The 2 April 2025 report describes shortened versions without choices. I have not checked whether they are still in the catalogue in October 2026. That report did not promise a linear Bandersnatch.
Where can I watch Bandersnatch now?
JustWatch for the US and UK showed no legal stream on 6 October 2026. I am not naming another platform and I am not linking unofficial copies. Branching live-action video you can buy is Late Shift on Steam. It is a different work.
Why is a linear recut not the same film?
Because the choice is the dramaturgy. Bandersnatch cannot be lost: there are branches, not a score. Cutting the branches leaves someone else’s route. For Bear Grylls that is a shorter runtime. For Bandersnatch it destroys the form.
