Abstract. Master’s thesis (Kharkiv State Academy of Culture). The work defines interactive film within the modern media landscape, proposes identification criteria, and builds an analytical methodology covering history, typology, and artistic techniques. An interactive film is framed as a medium with seamless gameplay that permits passive plot exploration while prioritising cinematic experience over gamified interaction. Honorary diploma — National Academy of Arts of Ukraine.

Supervised by S. B. Rybalko, Doctor of Art Studies, professor, head of the Department of Art Studies, Kharkiv State Academy of Culture.

The work earned an honorary diploma from the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine in a diploma contest.

It defines an interactive film as a medium with seamless gameplay that permits passive plot exploration while prioritising a cinematic experience over gamified interaction — and develops a structured approach to analysis covering story implementation, interaction mechanisms, viewer experience, and interrelations among interactive, audiovisual, and dramatic elements.
