Master’s thesis (Kharkiv State Academy of Culture). Scope of the work
Academic supervisor — S. B. Rybalko, Doctor of Arts, Professor, Head of the Art Studies Department, Kharkiv State Academy of Culture. The work was awarded an honorary diploma of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine.
The text proposes identification criteria for the interactive film and a structured analysis: story implementation, interaction mechanisms, viewer experience, and the interrelations among interactive, audiovisual, and dramatic elements. History, typology, and artistic techniques are assembled into a common methodological framework.
Conclusions
The interactive film is best defined as a medium in which the cinematic experience is prioritized over gamified interaction, and seamless gameplay allows for passive exploration of the story. The proposed methodology became the foundation for subsequent publications and analytical models of interactive cinema.
