Attack of the Killer Eggplants
Grindhouse horror · buddy-cop

A grindhouse B-movie horror in the spirit of 1970s drive-in double bills: a sheriff’s night patrol, slimy killer eggplants from outer space, and fatal dilemmas with three endings. Shot as 35mm-style stills with planned hotspots and assembled in my FMV Builder — it ships as the tool’s demo film, so every new builder feature gets tested on it first. Timed choices, QTE, explore frames, items and a revolver with countable ammo on the HUD; eight acts, 24 scenes, three endings. Playable free in the browser via the FMV Builder player.

Choose your night
The film opens as a grindhouse poster with a menu: start the Highway 101 patrol right away, or leaf through the character cards and the dossier first. Task: set the B-movie tone before the first frame of the night.

The patrol with state on screen
In the cruiser, the choice is whose eyes you watch the night through — the veteran’s advice or the rookie’s nerves — while the HUD keeps both partners’ condition over the picture. Task: make every dialogue fork feel like police work, not a quiz.

Six rounds, no mercy
When the roadblock meets the eggplant, the revolver appears on the HUD with countable ammo, Dread creeps up Danny’s meter, and the dialogue keeps offering quieter ways out. Task: let the horror live in the arithmetic — six shots, three endings.
- Timed choices — the patrol night forks under pressure, with QTE and holds in the heat of the chase
- Explore frames — click the scene for evidence and extra beats before moving on
- Items and state — keycard, radio and revolver ammo tracked across branches
- HUD on the frame — both partners’ condition and the ammo count live over the picture
- Three endings — the graph remembers which ones you have seen
